I designed a pneumatic water balloon launcher toy in Fusion 360 (left), carefully sizing the pressure tank and barrel length using Boyle’s Law and conservation of energy to achieve launch distances over 200 meters. To ensure safe and simple operation, I integrated a Schrader valve for pressurization using a standard bike pump. I also designed and 3D printed a compliant cup to cradle the water balloon during launch, minimizing premature rupture due to localized stress. A static FEA was performed on the cup to verify stress distribution and material deflection under loading. The entire assembly was prototyped and tested successfully (right), delivering reliable performance and kid-friendly usability.
