My name is Shaan Banday and I am a third-year Mechanical Engineering Student at the University of Waterloo.
Welcome aboard for a tour through my portfolio, demonstrating my skills in Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Finite Element Analysis (FEA), 3D printing, and machining.

Bruce Power | Reactor Design Engineering Intern
Designed reactor system modifications in support of operating nuclear units. Performed stress analysis on piping components, supported material selection, and developed field-deployable engineering packages aligned with nuclear design and regulatory standards
OCNI | Youth Shadow Councillor
Planned and hosted national webinars focused on careers in the Canadian nuclear industry and the role of Small Modular Reactors (SMRs). Oversaw logistics, speaker outreach, social media promotion, and post-event engagement
Bruce Power | Tooling Engineering Intern
Supported and testing of field tools for Major Component Replacement (MCR) programs. Contributed to reactor tooling prototypes using Siemens NX and 3D printing
Fermi Solutions | Nuclear Engineering Intern
Assisted in planning and execution of nuclear plant outage work. Involved in project coordination, field engineering measurements, and walkdowns during critical-path maintenance operations.
Multimatic | Test Lab Engineering Intern
Executed tensile and torque testing on automotive suspension components to validate OEM specifications. Analyzed slope calculation data to improve durability of EV suspension platforms. Rebuilt SolidWorks models of test fixtures and authored instructional documentation
Waterloo Formula SAE | Chassis and Aerodynamics Subteams
Designed and machined a steering potentiometer mount using DFM principles. Supported the production of carbon fiber moulds for aerodynamic components
Bluewater District School Board | Student Trustee
Represented over 17,000 students at the board level, contributing to school governance, mental health policy, and equity initiatives
